The Institute is raising a multi-year founding round to stand up its Los Angeles home, build out owned compute, and assemble a small founding team of scientists and engineers.

The foundation retains equity in every spin-off, and researchers participate directly in the value they create. This is how the Institute sustains itself beyond grants — and how fundamental science generates economic returns without compromising the research agenda. The first spin-off, Gufo Intelligence, is already in development — grounded in the Institute's calibration and uncertainty quantification research.
One hundred percent of foundation funds go to nonprofit research. The foundation retains equity in any commercial spin-offs — creating a sustainability engine that grows alongside the science.
